F# (pronounced “F sharp”) is a trio of renowned Finnish piano legend Sid Hille teaming up with Austrian multi-instrumentalist Herbert Könighofer.

Markus Ketola – drums
Herbert Könighofer – saxes, flutes, voc, live-loops
Hille plays the piano, using all sorts of effects, sound modifications, expression and loop pedals. Also Huhtala is using electronica to modify his beautiful acoustic bass sound and Ketola employs loops and samples of his own live playing, manipulating them through the Ableton Live application and thus creating spontaneously complete soundscapes. Könighofer adds up with his unique sound on various saxophones. What they do is improvisation at its finest!
Herbert Könighofer has joined the band on tours in Finland in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022 and in Austria in 2024. He has furthermore contributed to F#’s second album Scientifically proven & clinically tested, which is available as LP, CD or download at Sid Hille’s bandcamp. In fall 2022 they joined forces, performing in Helsinki and at the Baltic Sea: at Temppeliaukion Kirkko and at the 20th edition of Flame Jazz Festival!
In August 2025, the band has come up with BLINDFOLD, an exciting “sonic experiment in radical isolation”. The outcomes will be released by Satna Music – stay tuned for release dates and more!
